Who are the people who sail us?A Skipper sails with you.
The Skipper and our team speak German, Spanish and English. We are friendly, approachable and professional; we respect your privacy and are understanding of any questions, most of which we will be able to answer.
What happens in case of break down and necessary repairs? We have reliable helpers on land who will bring assistance by car to any port. We also have a well-chosen stock of spare parts should the need arise.
How far away is the island Mallorca from Torrevieja and how much time is needed to get there?
Palma de Mallorca is about 320 kms from Torrevieja and we divide the journey into several days to get used to longer trips each day.
The tour can take us to Alicante, on to Altea or Moraira and from there to Formentera or Ibiza to take us to Palma.
Around the island of Mallorca there are a great number of beautiful bays, Marinas and anchorage places which are well worth a visit.
The Marinas in Mallorca are of a high standard and in the high season it is often difficult to obtain a mooring.
It is usually difficult to stick to an exact time plan for berthing and cast off. We have to be open to improvisation in the day to day planning of the tour.
Everything depends on the weather and has to be re-assessed daily.
On a holiday of 14 days a Tour to Mallorca is very feasible.
For this we have to calculate 4 days and 4 nights, and we can expect a calm as well as a rougher sea, whereby a good wind is always helpful and a makes a sailing trip to a real experience.
How many hours of sunshine can I expect and what to do about sea sickness? In the Summer the sun shines at least 9 hours per day. On average, Torrevieja counts 320 days of sunshine and the climate is regarded as beneficial for asthma sufferers. The effects of the sun are particularly strong on a yacht, enforced by the reflection from the water, and this can quickly have unpleasant results.
Long-sleeved shirts and trousers are, therefore, in addition to T-shirts and Bermuda shorts a good idea. A warm sweater for the evening and waterproof wind protection are essential. The wind can be strong, and water splashes from the waves and the driving wind are part of the joys of sailing.
High waves can lead to a feeling of discomfort. We have effective tablets on board against sea sickness and can also offer you homoepathic medication.
Assisting with the steering of the boat and carrying out other tasks on board can help you concentrate on other things to overcome symptoms of seasickness.
The little ones and life on board. In our experience children under the age of 12 may have trouble adjusting to life on a boat. ‘Don’t touch anything’ and ‘be careful’ can be even more important on board than on land.
We take the needs of children into consideration and introduce more frequent stops in our journeys when possible.
Nevertheless, they can become bored after long periods under constant supervision (danger of ‘man over board’).
For similar reasons we do not accept pets on board.
What shoes and clothes do I need? Can I wash clothes? How much luggage can I bring? You need boat shoes or gym shoes with smooth soles which do not pick up stones and which do not leave marks. In addition, the shoes should be anti-slip. Shoes with any kind of heels are not allowed, sorry Ladies.
The ideal clothing is a combination of summer clothes and wind and water proof jackets and trousers, as well as a warm sweater of fleece or similar material. Wind and water proofs belong to sailing, as ‘bad weather’ can happen.
You can do your washing in the Marinas where you can normally use washing machines and dryers for a fee. On board we do not have a washing machine, a small wash will have to do. Clothes washing products are available. The wind takes care of the drying.
Please pack your belongings for the holidays into flexible bags. There is no room on board for storing hard suitcases, trolleys, etc.
Please do not bring too many pieces of luggage on board. Sportive clothes are all that is needed. Evening dress is not necessary, neither on board nor in the Marinas restaurants.
What happens in bad weather? What about safety? The weather is the most important factor on a sailing trip.
Should it, because of the weather, become impossible to carry out a Tour, or should it become necessary to change the route, this would, of course, be discussed and we would look for alternative solutions.
We have more than the legally prescribed safety equipment on board. Namely: Life raft, EPIRB, man over board equipment, life lines, life vests, life jackets, signal flares and other equipment. Children and adults can in bad weather or rough sea be secured with safety lines on deck.
What are my rights and duties on a boat?Your rights and duties are contained in ‚Terms and Conditions’ which we will send you with the booking confirmation. Before the tour specific questions will be discussed in detail.
